Llegamos! DAY 1

After a brief plane ride, about 2 hours to Philadelphia and 7.5 hrs to Europe, we arrived in España! Excited to see our friends, we quickly left the airport at 8:00AM in Spain (our 2:00AM). It was a more relaxing day to get accustomed to the time and get rid of jet lag. With my exchange student Javier, we took a little tour in the car of Madrid, and it's beautiful. We spent the majority of the afternoon eating lunch, which is the big meal of the day for Spaniards. We went to an Argetinian restaurant where the meat was incredible, as in the rest of Madrid. The Spanish food is amazing, yet different from the United States. The Spanish use olive oil in the place of butter most of the time. Lots of tomatoes, fruit, and fresh bread. I've found that people don't eat as much food as the U.S., but more frequently.
